Exit planning is part of your business strategy

About half my work is client work. The other half is running the business, just like my clients.
So I spend a lot of time thinking about the same things you do. Things like, “What is this all worth?”
“What kind of legacy am I building?”
“What do I want to do with everything I’ve built?”
That’s led us to create a system for our clients, one that takes them, one step at a time, toward the life they’ve been working so hard to create.
So we look at your business’s growth, and its ”attractiveness” to outside buyers.
We help you understand some of the things that might help you make the business more valuable in the eyes of an acquirer, and we connect you with the right partners to help you on that growth journey.
But then there’s what happens when you’re ready to exit.
We focus really hard on helping you keep more of your earnings, instead of it all going to taxes.
That takes proactive tax planning, and it takes understanding that what you’re currently taking out of the business isn’t necessarily what a buyer will be.
Your business might actually be worth more than you’re calculating, because it might be covering more of your expenses than it would for a new owner.
We also help with preparing for succession, if you’re not selling the business to an outside buyer.
Maybe you want to pass it on to your family, or your team. We help you map out everyone‘s roles and how that connects to your vision for what you’ve built, and who is best to support that vision going forward.
One of my most important jobs at HFM is helping you figure out what the picture of your future looks like, and then helping you figure out how to make it happen with all the technical parts in place.
So that’s why we’re always saying that exit planning is part of your business strategy, not something you think about for the first time when you get an offer, or an itch to sell.
