Michael is HFM’s visionary. Since 1989 when he began his career, he has adapted his practice to stay ahead of the curve. Whether it’s technology or strategy, he pursues and implements the best in investing, financial planning and compliance practices for his firm’s clients.

As a business leader for over 28 years, Michael has been steadily educating and guiding clients throughout every facet of their lives. Michael’s expertise in financial management is deep. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University’s School of Business. He earned the designations of Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), an Accredited Estate Planner (AEP), and a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) all from The American College, Bryn Mawr, PA.

Michael serves as Chair of the Executive Board of the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce, the Treasurer for the Washington Township Education Fund, member of the Board of Directors for the Rowan College Foundation and  a member of the Rowan College of Gloucester County Marketing and Management Business Advisory Committee.

Michael has presented numerous educational workshops to clients, students and the community at-large including financial literacy programs for; Junior Achievement©, “6ABC Best of the Best” High School seniors, Washington Twp. Honor Society, local elementary schools and libraries. He has been a guest speaker for many Rowan University undergraduate finance classes, The American College in Bryn Mawr, PA and provides free workshops for business owners with the South Jersey Business Institute.

Book Recommendations
The Investment Answer,” by Daniel Goldie and Gordon Murray. With only six months to live, Advisor Murray wrote this book to serve as part of his legacy. It’s filled with timeless advice for all investors. If we were to write a book, I could only hope it would be this clear, concise and valuable. “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” by Stephen Covey. It’s never too late to learn. This is a classic for all ages.

People trying to apply general financial advice from media talking heads, gurus and prognosticators on TV and radio.

How I would spend a spare hour
Sitting on my back porch enjoying the sounds and the view of the woods and lake nearby.

Ideal Weekend
Friday night dinner with my wife, Saturday afternoon watching the kids sporting events, a fun Saturday night out to a Concert with good friends, Sunday morning workout (followed by a quick walk to buy donuts!) then traditional Sunday night pasta dinner with the whole family.

Saving Private Ryan,  Mel Brooks – History of the World,  Rocky 1, The Lord of the Rings and Goodfellas.

Community Involvement
Of all my community endeavors, my favorites include: 10+ years of teaching the Junior Achievement© program at our local elementary school; being lucky enough to coach all three of my children on their youth track, soccer and basketball teams, and our family tradition of delivering food baskets at Thanksgiving and toys at Christmas. My idea of collecting a “few” coats in 2010 has turned into providing over 10,000 warm coats to Gloucester County neighbors. And finally but close to my heart is helping my community become “a better us” through fundraising for the YMCA of Gloucester County.

What most people may not know
I make a killer antipasti.
